Nominated for a Bucky

UPDATE – Maybe Smith has made the official shortlist! Voting begins anew!

The song You Would Never Survive the Winters in this Province by Maybe Smith (that’s me!) has been nominated for a CBC Radio 3 Bucky Award in the category of Most Canadian Song! Pretty soon I’ll be singing the Canadian National Anthem at a Habs game, no doubt.

Vote for me every day! If you want to, that is. Polls close November 29th at midnight.

Winning a Bucky would pretty much be the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. I assume it will get me that much closer to earning a date with the Governor General.

But if you don’t vote for me, it’s ok; I’m a seasoned veteran when it comes to losing at these things.

I love the song. Makes me miss Saskatoon.
Thank you and good luck!

Thanks, Greer!

I was in Chile when I first heard this song, it made me miss home. I was shocked to learn that not only was this NOT the #1 song of the year, it didn’t even make the R3-30 top 103 (unless I missed it). And it didn’t win the Bucky either. You were robbed. My top song of the year by a landslide.
