Pain works on a sliding scale

Someday—somehow—I hope to write one song on par with any song by David Berman. That is my insufferable goal.

This song, “Candy Jail”, seems so simple—and kind of silly—at first; then you realize just how masterful it is. That’s how most of his songs work.

“Candy Jail” is an amazing song! It gets better every time you listen to it.
